Why is there no happiness that can be split in three, as the song goes...\u00a0 <strong>Where does happiness come from?;<\/strong> Does it finally arrive or is it an elusive dream?;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this article you will come into contact with some answers to the above questions, but above all you will be able to distinguish when and <strong>at what speed you are moving towards happiness <\/strong>which you naturally define. This naturally comes when we realise when we are walking down the road of <em><strong>consumption <\/strong><\/em>and when down the road of <strong><em>creation.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From ancient Greece and Aristotle to the modern perspective of the science of psychology, and specifically positive psychology,\u00a0<strong><em> happiness is \u201cseparated\u201d into various paths<\/em><\/strong> with the aim of making both its study and the development of an inner journey towards it feasible. Specifically, <strong>a first part of it is the pleasant life <\/strong>during which we consume pleasant moments, activities and material goods which generate pleasant emotions in the present, past and future, leaving us with temporary satisfaction. Here we encounter moments such as eating your favourite ice cream, a lovely walk, an enjoyable theatre performance. A <strong>second part of happiness is a life where each of us utilises and develops our unique talents\u00a0<\/strong> and at the same time applies and uses them increasingly in our daily lives, experiencing satisfaction characterised by stability and durability.\u00a0 <strong>In other words, the more one self-actualises, the more aligned they are with their inner compass.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following on from the above comes a meaningful life.\u00a0 <strong>A meaningful life is <\/strong>a life in which one uses their talents to serve a purpose much greater than themselves and their self-actualisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>All three levels of happiness are extremely important,<\/strong> one does not cancel out the other; on the contrary, they support each other in such a way that one creates and nurtures the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0After all, we are human and we need everything. But what are the <strong>traps <\/strong>that stand in our way and deprive us of a vibrant life filled with satisfaction and meaning?;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>To consume means that something comes from outside myself and I simply derive pleasure by taking it inside me<\/strong>. For example, food, buying a car, a house, etc.; the list is endless! Today, more than ever before, anyone can satisfy their need for consumption instantly and in a thousand different ways, making it exceptionally easy to develop an addictive relationship with consumer products. After all, marketing is constantly outdoing itself, with the result that modern humans have grown to adore their mobile phones and feel a sense of emptiness when they do not have them close by. Countless hours of thought, observation, and endless money spent on research into how to turn a 200-gram device into an object of worship! Naturally, the more mental and financial resources are invested, the more powerful the result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u00a0To consume means I will feel joy<\/strong>, I will feel satisfied as soon as I buy those shoes, as soon as I eat that dessert. This is completely natural and expected.<strong> However, to consume means that this satisfaction will only last for a short while! <\/strong>And for those who have earned a \u201cPhD\u201d in consumption, it may only last a few seconds. Then, the pursuit of happiness is relentless, easily and quickly jumping from one consumption to the next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>To create means that I connect and I connect things.<\/strong>\u00a0 I connect with myself and I connect everything I have consumed so that something fresh, something new is born. You can imagine it like a pregnancy where for 9 months tissues are connected and synthesized. At the end of it \u2013 which is also a beginning \u2013 a human being is born, something that transforms parents from consumers of experiences into creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through their parental role, these people are called upon to continually create growth conditions for their children. <strong>To create means a milder intensity of joy, but one that is steady over time\u2014so steady that someone can lean on it at any given moment. <\/strong>The essence of a parent's joy is based on the fact that they managed to create a new identity piece within themselves: the part of the parental role. This part is now within them; it exists. This part nourishes them with meaning for the rest of their lives. Of course, this happens with any identity piece you create within yourself.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Have you managed over the years not to postpone on a daily basis the things that fill your soul?;<\/strong>\u00a0 Then you have created within yourself the identity of someone who is consistent with their desires. This is not just a superficial change in your behaviour\u2014meaning that you exhibit certain consistent behaviours\u2014but an identity shift, <strong>you are <\/strong>consistent. Have you managed over the years to create that version of yourself who can recognise when others cross your boundaries and draw a hard line for them? Then you have created a piece of your identity; you no longer just protect yourself<strong> you are<\/strong> protective, and you keep that within you for a lifetime as your support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Do you consume or create relationships?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0<strong><em>To relate means to know.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong> It means to discover myself, over and over again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>The person you have beside you is your mirror<\/em><\/strong>. They mirror your adequacies and your inadequacies back to you.
